Where do the brights with a cool undertone but medium intensity fit in seasonal color analysis?

Okay, I'm still confused I need your help!! I have dark hazel eyes and I burn at first then tan. I have a pink undertone to my skin and light brown hair that sometimes looks as though it has a slight red tint in the winter and sometimes a light blonde tint in the summer

Black and Brown skinned redheads exist. There are quite a few of them including my mom but she never takes these services seriously because yall seem completely unaware of how diverse and nuanced poc’s coloring actual is. I hate to tell you this but your quiz is very flawed. Like every other quiz as soon as I selected I had dark features it placed me as deep. I wore those colors and looked stark & tired for months. It wasn’t until I joined a color analysis group that everyone immediately saw I had soft coloring. I actually look best in soft muted colors but when my skin is lighter in winter and spring I can wear light summer colors. Every test (including yours unfortunately) assumes all dark haired POC can handle bright, deep jewel tones and it’s absolutely untrue.

Pretty sure this is where I fit though can pull off a rich cool red and black and white thought tend more to navy blue, rich berry, etc. Natural hair is soft black, eyes are a deep cool army green but can go amber. My skin is neutral to cool and super pale. Thanks for showing how people can pull into related fields. If you take that bright jewel ring out then I’m definitely a BCD. Interesting.

Finally an accurate description of me! I usually dress in cool shades of blue but this spring I bought a burned orange hoodie that is perfect for my ginger hair and blue grey eyes. I have only one item in green but I think green is better for green eyes and red hair.

I am a very, very fair skinned cool olive (think MAC NC10). It's so hard to be that colour - warm tones look horrific on me, they make me look sick. But fair skin makeup is mostly pink based, which looks too pink on my cool olive skin. But cool colours absolutely work better for me. I wish cool olive or even fair olive skin was more talked about, we are very neglected.

I got a bit confused towards the end with the painted green yellow as it looked more ‘lime’ which I thought was warm rather than cool?

I have the same tones and hair, eye colour, and yep. You’re spot on lol. I struggle between “I look kinda ok in coral, but I feel like I’m supposed to be more muted” and I find that I look best in either a slightly desaturated deep red, or a light, sheer, sort of neutral rose. As for clothing colours I also look good in the tones that match my eyes, those earthy, fall tones. I’m kind of punk so I always opt for black over dark brown but I bet it would look nice on me

What if it seems I'm bright, cool, medium but I'm drawn to the mustard, rust, copper, Salem, coral colors? Also red/copper hair colors?

This was INCREDIBLY helpful. I was professionally typed as a light spring (my strawberry hair has grayed into pure platinum blonde). But like this beautiful lady, I also look great in cool bright pinks.

Ie am slightly worried by your comment that the lady might not have been so warm in the first place, maybe misdiagnosed even. This is a bit easy to say and I have heard it many times. It does not take account of the fact that many of us change colouring quite dramatically, quite naturally. I have gone from very warm, dark eyes and dark hair (I was dark autumn and wore those colours very successfully for decades) to much lighter. My eyes have changed to much lighter, brighter green from very dark indeed (almost black) and now have grey in with the green, not brown, so of course they have softened and lightened. My natural hair colour is no longer darkest warm brown, but obviously grey under the colour I put on it. To go with my lighter eyes, I have lightened the colour to softer, mid warm brown, with some ash tones (it didn't look right next to my eyes without that element. Looking at me now, you might say, I could never have been a dark/deep autumn, but I clearly was. So what am I now, well I suppose I have softened to a soft autumn!?

Not all greens are cool, not all blues are cool. I feel that colour analysis should use “ blue “ vs “ yellow” language instead of warm and cool to be less confusing. there are bright blues with more yellow, bright greens that carry more yellow… people get confused and think in terms of colour wheel instead of tones of colour

What does it mean if a bright neon pink makes your skin look more tan? Does that mean it's not the right colors ? Not sure if you suppose to look colorful or dull in face to have the right color ?

Haha did I write this?! This is EXACTLY how I feel! Royal blue is one of my favorite to wear. My hair is getting darker over the years but still maintains the red in it. Would this mean leaning more towards Spring colors vs autumn.

Thanks for this video, very helpful! Can you make this adjustment anywhere else apart from photoshop? I saw an interesting video last week about subtractive and additive light, RYB colour wheel and CMG colour wheel, respectively. It went into how colours on our screens are made from the additive colour wheel (CMG), and this can affect how the colours are translated in the images when looked at on a device. It it also very much depends on your device and its graphics capabilities, screen quality, etc (Disclaimer: this is a very unscientific explanation of the video!!!) Is there a trick for adjusting for this additional colour wheel conundrum, or does this de-sallowing method cover all the bases? 🤯

This makes sense. I am warm deep but also olive. Randomly, I previously thought, magenta looks terrific on me and I have always considered it cool deep. Last year I was told that I am olive and it changed my thinking. So many pieces started to fit as I’ve only looked at undertones and not overtones previously. Love your channel. I learn so much.

This is so interesting thank you. I really struggle as I was analysed years ago as a winter and was told to wear fuschia lipstick. I am high contract with dark hair, dark eyes and brows and my skin is a medium olive with neutral green undertone leaning a bit warm. I struggle with lipsticks and find any bright pinks look awful unless they are muted and lean mauve. If I wear lipstick I often have to add a red tone or brown tone to make it blend in more with my colouring and can never decide if I need to wear deep warm tones or cool deep colours. Yet deep mulberry wine shades look good on me as well as browns or red browns. Yet I had been told to wear fuschia which can look striking. It is so confusing when olive toned.

I found this fascinating. I’ve typed myself as a soft autumn. I’ve looked at a lot of videos and it made sense to me why a lot of make up doesn’t look quite right on me, I have similar colouring to a lot of soft autumn celebs and my contrast is low. Could you recommend a red lipstick or any lipstick for a soft autumn please? I’d love to wear a red lip but it always seems to wear me! I totally agree, the warm lip colour blended with your colouring really nicely.

I disagree, i look great in olive green and terrible in bright red, I right away look green, I try to avoid wearing that color it looks pretty bad on me, but a darker wine red looks awesome

As a pale🫒, I can attest to anything yellow or near yellow on me makes me look jaundiced or gray. Blues for me contrast too much and also make me look more yellow in comparison. Desaturated blues with depth or grayness are okay, but not “best.” I have found that cool and dark reds, plums, blacks, charcoals, and optic white are my best colors. I didn’t choose the goth life, the goth life chose me. 😂

I was wondering if there were some slightly bright tones in the soft cool medium. I used to think I was a soft summer with more depth, but a lot of those colors looked drab on me. I now know that I’m slightly soft with a need for a touch of brightness. I think the soft cool medium probably suits me best. I may even be able to play in some of the bright cool medium colors as well.
